  16. Installation
  17. ------------

  19. Methods of installation vary depending on where you got this software from.
  20. If installation instructions have been provided separately, please follow
  21. them. 
  22. If you downloaded this software from an on-line service you should unzip
  23. any .ZIP files into a new directory (eg. TREEDRAW) on your hard disk.
  24.  
  25. If you are installing both TreeDraw and Kith and Kin it is helpful to
  26. install them into the same directory.
  27.  
  28. Run TREEDRAW.EXE from the File Manager or create a new program item in the
  29. Program Manager and double click on the TreeDraw icon.
  30. You can launch TreeDraw from a Chart File (.TDR) if you have associated
  31. .TDR files with TREEDRAW.EXE in the File Manager.
  32. The program (.EXE), help (.HLP) and options (.OPT/.OP2/.INI) files must all
  33. reside in the same directory.

  35. The files BWCC.DLL and SS_DATE.DLL should reside in either the TREEDRAW or
  36. WINDOWS\SYSTEM directories or in another directory in your PATH. Since
  37. BWCC.DLL is a common DLL you may already have it on your system in which
  38. case you need only one copy available. Make sure that the copies you have
  39. on your system are the same version as those on the release disk.

  50. User-defined fields from Kith and Kin can now be imported.

  94. functional evaluation copy which you may install and use free of charge
  95. for 30 days. After that time, if you wish to continue using the program you
  96. must become a registered user. Details of how to register are available in
  97. the on-line help.

  112. To get you off to a flying start using TreeDraw, read the help topic
  113. "Getting Started". This will lead you through the basics.

  115. The TREEDRAW.HLP help file is a complete on-line manual for TreeDraw. As
  116. well as providing context-sensitive help direct from TreeDraw, it contains
  117. all the technical information about the program, usage tips and details on
  118. how to register in an easy-to-use format. Please make extensive use of it,
  119. you will find it very useful.

  121. The file TREEDRAW.TXT is an extract of TREEDRAW.HLP in text format which you
  122. may send straight to your printer. For example, you can do this in DOS using
  123. the command "type treedraw.txt > prn".
